| User ReviewThomas PThis is a fine little film that tells its story in its own way and in its own time. Stylistically it seems a little stilted and odd at first. Hence the comments from insensitive reviewers here. However the style and mannerisms are clearly intentional and help create a sense of a nostalgic dream world that is at the heart of Disney creations. Just let it go and let the story take its course. In the end it's time well spent and offers Disney fans perhaps a slightly different understanding of what it's all about. |

| User ReviewMavrinac DNothing special here at all. It's a decent enough story about the very early life of Walt, but it's let down by the script, direction, production values and much of the acting. Mark Stuart is worthy a mention for his part as Walts dad and some good moments from Rogers as Walt himself, and good narration by Tritt. |
| User ReviewSteve HThis is a film with a story capable of inspiring the world. All this movie managed to do, however, was disappoint me to the point of near anger. The acting was horrendous, the script almost as bad, and the production is nothing to be proud of. This movie isn't capable of much more than causing its viewers to start dreaming themselves, in their sleep. I sincerely hope someone makes a movie about Walt Disney that at least attempts to be at par with the amazing story itself. 'As Dreamers Do' consists of actors who can't act and a story that focuses on Walt's struggle rather than his achievements. This usually isn't such a bad thing, but as someone wishing to hear a story about a man with nothing rising to greatness while helping people at the same time, I only got half the story. This film is an enormous letdown. I would have been more entertained reading about Walt Disney on Wikipedia. Justice has not been done to Mr. Disney's legacy whatsoever. |
