User Review - 10/10 by HOT FEMALE hTHIS MAN IS SO GOOD I HAVE READ MOST OF HIS BOOKS THE BEATING HEART AND ALSO THE RAVEN ITS MORE LIKE A MYSTERY
User Review - 10/10 by Kelly CHOLY FRIGGIN CHRIST!! How can this be?? One of Vincent Price's Best performances, and nobody has anything to say? (Let alone rate it?) Basically? This is a one man tribute to 3 stories by Poe, and Price plays all characters, voices, and general everything of just a pure actor on stage, with Poe memorized to the tee. I recommend this to anyone who not only wishes to see the stregth of Price's performance, but also seeing Poe done like no other. Also on Midnite Movies, and OOp. Gorewhore Out...
User Review - 10/10 by Brian BA very, very good one man show from Vincent Price. He recites several Edgar Allan Poe stories so well that you don't notice a lack of a cast.
User Review - 8/10 by D MEssentially a stage production, this made-for-TV special starring Vincent Price, the eminent horror icon, showcases his recital of four EA Poe Stories including my favourtite, "The Cask of Amontillado." As one would expect, Price does a fantastic job in his delivery of the prose properly interjecting the comedic bits found within the originals. An absolute must for any Poe and/or Price fan.
User Review - 8/10 by Eliza DVincent Price in the perfect setting... by himself.
User Review - 8/10 by Brett BVincent Price does bravura work here (sometimes subtle and haunting, other times fantastically unhinged), and the "One Man Show" format suits him incredibly well. His talents as a storyteller are put to marvelous use, and with the aid of only minimal set dressing, lighting, and sound effects, he conjures up some mightily chilling atmosphere. Most copies of this TV production (including the one available on DVD) aren't in the greatest of quality, but it is well worth tracking down to enjoy Price basking in Poe's wonderful and macabre prose.
User Review - 8/10 by William WThe great Vincent Price performs four of Edgar Allan Poe's classic tales of terror in a one-man show entitled AN EVENING OF EDGAR ALLAN POE, produced by Samuel Z. Arkoff and directed by Kenneth Johnson for American International Pictures. Unlike the Roger Corman productions from decades past, AN EVENING OF EDGAR ALLAN POE is a theatrical and literal interpretation of Poe's original prose in which Price rehearses the lines of one or more characters with great care and enthusiasm. Here, Price is given the opportunity to fully explore his range as an actor in taking on the various roles with a separate and unique cadence for each character. He transforms from the raving lunatic in The Tell-Tale Heart to a far more sinister and sophisticated villain in The Cask of Amontillado. The sets are surprisingly well-dressed for such a small stage performance, which lends a wonderful mood and atmosphere to the entire production. Overall, this is a great little collection for Poe and Price fans, alike. -Carl Manes I Like Horror Movies
User Review - 6/10 by Mark DVincent Price acts out and reads 4 Poe tales in that Vincent Price way. Very entertaining but only an hour.
User Review - 6/10 by Rod Ei kind of drifted out of this as it is really just a one man show of Vincent Price reciting Poe stories. It isn't very mesmerizing but there is a joy in watching Price tell the tales.
User Review - 6/10 by Carlos IVincent Price gives it his all as he recites four of Poe's works. It's essentially just a filmed version of a one man show, but Price is electrifying as always and makes this compelling, despite its limitations.
