Movie Reviews

Variety - 8/10 by Courtney HowardThe warmth and touching tenderness of All My Life melts even the coldest of hearts in its quest to deliver happy and sad tears.
TheWrap - 6/10 by Steve PondIt’s a drama rather than a comedy, so call it a rom-dram – and if that phrase seems slightly dismissive, it’s appropriate for a movie that plays up the sentimentality and never escapes the feeling that it’s a light look at a heavy subject.
RogerEbert.com - 5/10 by Nell MinowIt has all the gloss of a Pottery Barn catalogue and all the depth of a "hang in there" greeting card, but if you are in the mood for a sad story about very attractive people learning to get the most out of the time they have, it will do.
Screen Rant - 5/10 by Rachel LaBonteBolstered by the sweet chemistry of its attractive leads, All My Life doesn't listen to its central message: Make the most of the time you have.
Los Angeles Times - 4/10 by Gary GoldsteinRothe and Shum Jr. have such nice, authentic chemistry that they should put it to good use again. Perhaps there’s a jaunty rom-com out there with their names on it.
Movie Nation - 4/10 by Roger MooreEverything about this couple, from the way they pair up to the ways their romance plays out, feels scripted and inorganic, people “acting” like they’re soul mates because that’s in the job description. They know it, and we know it from watching them.
The Film Stage - 3/10 by John FinkAll My Life recalls the formula employed by Hallmark Originals, which have predictable beats, lack nuance, and are a kind of cinematic comfort food––this is the cinematic equivalent of drinking your Carmel Frap while crying your eyes out to the new Hasley album.
Austin Chronicle - 3/10 by Richard WhittakerSomehow All My Life seems oddly lacking in stakes, which is so weird considering the story (the main symptoms of onscreen Chau’s deadly but photogenic disease seem to be a little tiredness and sweatiness).
The A.V. Club - 2/10 by Carlos AguilarAll My Life is too passionless to earn even a begrudged sniffle. It’s all paint-by-numbers, from the requisite “screaming inside a car” shot expressing a character’s frustrations to the store-bought spontaneity of a couple jumping into a fountain fully clothed.
User Review - 9/10 by MammaChoThis movie was so heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time! It had me ugly crying throughout the movie. The acting was great and the fact that it was based on a true story was incredible. I loved the fresh representation in a movie like this and Harry Shum was a great pick for this. They had amazing chemistry.
