The Mexican Gonzalo Hernandez travels with his dysfunctional family to spend vacation together in the XCaret resort in Playa de Carmen for the first time after ten years. Gonzalo lives in Santiago with his frustrated Chilean wife, Carmen; his lesbian daughter Macarena that has just divorced from her husband; his pothead daughter Camila; and his nerd virgin son Andres. On the arrival, Gonzalo calls his doctor with the results of his medical exams and he learns that he is terminal. Lost without knowing how to tell his fate to his family, Gonzalo lies to Carmen, telling that he needs to travel in a business trip. He leaves the hotel and travels alone without destination. Gonzalo arrives in a small town, where he is robbed and he meets the Cuban Usnavy that helps him to return to the resort. Meanwhile, his family is trapped in the hotel room since a hurricane will come to the spot and they air their dirty laundry.

| User ReviewRaul LGonzalo Fernandez (Jesús Ochoa) y su esposa Carmen (Valentina Vargas) viajan con su familia a la Rivera Maya para disfrutar de unos dÃas de vacaciones. Durante estas vacaciones se pronostica la llegada de un huracán categorÃa que afectará los planes de la familia, la cual se encuentra formada por Camila (Martha Higareda) quien acaba de divorciase, Macarena (Ana Serradilla) una adolecente revelde que acostumbra fumar mariguana y por Andres (Jesús Zavala) el más pequeño de la familia quien disfruta de estar tomando fotos todo el tiempo. En el primer dÃa de vacaciones Gonzalo se entera de que sufre una enfermedad y le queda poco tiempo de vida, por lo que confundido abandona el hotel, con el pretexto de que tiene que regresar a una reunión de trabajo a Monterrey. Por la noche, en un antro Gonzalo saca a bailar a una joven cubana Usnavy (Maya Zapata) y por distracción es asaltado, la cubana lo ayuda levantandole el ánimo enseñandole a bailar y a sentir el ritmo de la música, pero ante tanta actividad Gonzalo sufre un paro cardiaco y termina en el hospital. Mientras que en el hotel el resto de la familia vive de de todo, Macarena hace amistad con Miranda (Leonor Varela) y con esta nueva amistad descubre su preferencia sexual por las mujeres. Carmen se ve acosada por Baldi (Julio Camil) quien la seduce y trata de conquistarla para llevarla a la cama. Andres conquista a una chica por internet, el se hace pasar por un empleado del hotel, pero la chica que es mayor que él descubre el engaño. Camila se esconde en las piramides para alejarse de su familia, tras perderle el respeto a su propia madre fuma mariguana enfrente de ella mientras todos esperan que el huracán toque tierra. Como medidas de protección la familia se reune en un cuarto del hotel, en donde finalmente llega Gonzalo. Carmen le cuestiona, sobre donde habÃa andado y despúes de una acalorada discusión entre todos, Gonzalo decide darles da la noticia sobre su enfermedad y los pocos dÃas de vida que le quedan. Esta nueva realidad impactará a la familia de la misma manera que el huracán, cambiando su manera de convivir y vivir la vida como familia. Pero como dice el taxista (Edgar Vivar) para eso sirven los huracanes, para recordarnos de lo frágil que somos y que por más nublado que amanezca debemos de recordar que más arriba se encuentra el Sol. |
| User ReviewArmando BIt was alright, although nothing spectacular. A decent storyline, with some good characters, but for me it never really had me entirely engaged. Had some good moments, but was also a bit dull in others. |
