Hartford CourantMalcolm JohnsonAs it moves forward, into hope and then back into terror, Alan & Naomi deepens and quickens. In many ways it is a simple and modest little picture, obliterating unthinkable horrors too easily.

User ReviewMissy Mi remember watching this when i was really young and just bawling.... haven't seen it in forever, but it really stuck with me
User ReviewTim NGreat movie, I saw it maybe in 1994 or 1995
User ReviewNicole SAlthough sadly overlooked, Alan and Naomi is an amazing art film that follows the story of a boy who helps a Jewish girl recover from the shock of seeing her father killed by the Nazis. A very touching film, and I must say this is the best child acting I have ever seen in my life. The best part, however, is the ending. While I won't spoil anything, it is very unusual and thought-provoking, definitely only what an art-house film could achieve. 100% certified fresh!
User ReviewMartina GAbsolutely beautiful and totally underrated! One of my favorites as a child and still to this day... heartwarming story of a boy who helps a young girl traumatized by war to learn to trust again. It will have you bawling your eyes out.
User ReviewKristy PReally sad movie...but good. I liked Lukas Haas's character the most; he brought a lot of heart and emotion to the movie. The ending leaves you wondering, and usually I don't like those kinds of endings, but the rest of the movie was so good that I still rate it high.
User ReviewKatelyn BThis is a cute and heartwarming movie, and a nice thought, but... I thought more could have been done with the ending. The story rocks along very nicely, and it kind of ends abruptly, almost back to where the two characters were at the beginning of the movie! That was a little disappointing, but overall I say a very good movie. At first I was a little weary with this one because frankly, I am a little 'nazi-ed'-out when it comes to movies. However, this story isn't really about that at all - it is just needed to explain some background. I will definitely be holding on to this movie :)
