Optimistic Jasper Cates and gloomy Callie Morgan initially clash but grow closer while waiting desperately for life saving transplant organs in a specialized university hospital ward. From these feelings and friendships she forms with other transplant recipients at the hospital, she slowly allows herself to be close again to other people. A predictable and sappy movie for the sentimental and romantics. The drama does address intelligently the complexities of the organ donation process and how recipients cope with rebuilding their lives. Though I could not help thinking that more could have been done with the subject matter at hand. |
