The DissolveNoel MurrayA dreary affair, sanding off the original's satirical edges.
Classic Film and TelevisionMichael E. GrostThis comedy with jazz music is uneven, but it has rich production values and likable numbers.
User ReviewChris GFilled with musical greats from the time like Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Glenn Miller, and much much more. Filled with music and with an adorable love story, it's great for those who want their musical, laughing, and romance fix.
User ReviewMary HLove the music and the plot! Danny is his charming self!
User ReviewAmanda MA spoof on the film "Balls of Fire", it is absolutely hilarious. I appreciated this one so much more once I'd seen what it was making fun of. Fabulous!

User Reviewdanny dsnow white and the seven musical genius hermits. not only one of the best musicals ever made, but one of my favorite films of all time. virginia mayo shows us again why she was one of the most beautiful women of her time, and dany kaye puts in a stellar performance. the appearances and music of two of the greatest musicians of all time, benny goodman and sachmo, were excellent. each piece of music in this musical about the making of jazz was perfect, and the love story hit the mark. the opening sequence was fuzed with clever writing and great humor, and the film never slows down. one of the top five films of its decade which features some of the greatest films ever made.
User ReviewBen RHands down, my favorite Danny Kaye movie. Insanely funny. He has astonishing chemistry with Virginia Mayo, but that probably wasn't hard. Also a great showcase for some of the biggest names in jazz.
