Movie Reviews

Washington Post - 10/10 by Michael O'SullivanLike A Quiet Place, Part II is a lean, nearly flab- and gristle-free piece of sci-fi steak.
The Hollywood Reporter - 9/10 by David RooneyIt’s another breathless chamber piece, expertly crafted to pack dread into every nerve-rattling sound.
New York Post - 9/10 by Johnny OleksinskiThe hugely enjoyable second entry doesn’t lift the franchise to new artistic heights, a la The Empire Strikes Back, but Part II is every bit as good and scary as its predecessor, and the characters, especially the kids, go to deeper and braver places.
Chicago Sun-Times - 9/10 by Richard RoeperA Quiet Place Part II might not carry quite the same original wallop as the original (how could it?), but this is a meticulously crafted, spine-tingling, fantastically choreographed monster movie that expands the canvas, works as a stand-alone story and leaves us wanting more from this franchise.
New York Magazine (Vulture) - 9/10 by Bilge EbiriBeyond the many jump scares involving aliens and the terrifically terrified-out-of-their-wits performances, what makes A Quiet Place Part II special is the sheer joy we get from feeling like we’re in the hands of a confident filmmaker.
Screen Daily - 9/10 by Tim GriersonA Quiet Place Part II proves to be an even fiercer and more emotional experience than the first instalment. Expanding its world slightly without losing sight of the elements that made the original so effective, this superb piece of mainstream horror filmmaking is bolstered by some terrific performances, most notably Millicent Simmonds as a deaf daughter assuming the role of family protector in the wake of her father’s death.
IGN - 8/10 by Jim VejvodaDirector John Krasinski delivers that rare horror sequel that (almost) stands toe-to-toe with its predecessor.
BBC - 8/10 by Nicholas BarberThis is a film that is undoubtedly more effective in the dark, with a top-notch sound system and a huge screen, than it would be on a laptop or a television. If, like Evelyn and her family, you are willing to venture out of your home and into the outside world, you could hardly ask for more suitable or more exhilarating entertainment.
Uproxx - 8/10 by Mike RyanBy the end of A Quiet Place Part II my stomach literally hurt. There’s no way I could have done another 20 minutes because it is too intense. That’s one of the best compliments I can give it.
Film Threat - 8/10 by Rob RectorA Quiet Place: Part II offers another round of impressively staged set pieces, a few cheap (but damn effective) “gotcha” jumpscares, and a heavier dose of those spindly, flower-headed aliens.
