Emre auditions several female candidates, eager to star in a feature film, and then chooses one to follow, as instructed. Eventually, the main participants are gathered in an old, abandoned mansion on Prince's Island, off the coast of Istanbul. As events unfold, this self-reflective and sarcastic black comedy turns into a macabre "making-of" of a bizarre film by avant garde film director Tugra Kaftancioglu, the totalitarian and self-obsessed mastermind behind the whole project. Swaying brutally between fiction and reality, humour and suspense, "A Film By Tugra Kaftancioglu" is a shockingly realistic, documentary like film, with a caustic and critical look on acting, directing, and ambition.
