Ozus' World Movie Reviews - 7/10 by Dennis SchwartzIt's a lively, but unpleasant, unconvincing and overwrought B-film crime drama.
User Review - 6/10 by Maria VUneven, but still interesting noir crime thriller. It's very much a product of its time, with Edmond O'Brien coming on way too strong as the lead and a script that could use some tighter pacing - especially during some awkward attempts at humor. But the stronger story elements - particularly Raymond Burr's timid, momma's boy psychopath - keep it compelling despite its flaws.
User Review - 4/10 by Allan Cnone of the characters in "a cry in the night" have much of a back story, until the very end when they reveal some information about the taggart family. unfortunately, the information revealed is pretty lame.
