Movie Reviews

Irish Times - 6/10 by Tara BradyAgainst all odds, the film, though not short on Yuletide schmaltz, is pretty good, and a huge improvement on such 'family fare' as the dread Nativity franchise.
Guardian - 6/10 by Leslie FelperinThis Northern Ireland-set fable steals adroitly from all kinds of classic Christmas-themed movies - a bit of Miracle on 34th Street, a dash of Nativity!, a big dollop of It's a Wonderful Life, and so on.
Radio Times - 6/10 by James LuxfordGood humour and a sincere message cut through the treacle to make an infectiously festive family movie, which wears its tinsel-covered heart on its sleeve.
Common Sense Media - 4/10 by Grace MontgomeryStar-studded Irish holiday movie is cliched but sweet.
The Sun (UK) - 4/10 by Grant RollingsThis Northern Irish family movie is desperately short on original ideas.
Times (UK) - 4/10 by Kate MuirThis is a children's film made by adults who think they knwo what children want.
Time Out - 2/10 by Trevor JohnstonThis dismal film is enough to put a dampener on your Christmas before it's even started.
The Mail on Sunday (UK) - 2/10 by Matthew BondWith the exception of one or two performances from its junior cast, this is awful, a feeble reworking of Local Hero weighed down with ersatz sentiment, clunking parallels with the Nativity story and a charmless script.
User Review - 10/10 by John BLoved it! Great to see unknown kids playing most of the main characters... this wasn't a rerun of anything,?in fact it's based on true happenings in the town of GlenArm in Northern Ireland.. I've watched a few times and love it everytime
User Review - 10/10 by Jayne DThis is a great movie for little, middle size, big kids and adults! Very funny! Liam lesson as narrator is great.... Thomas from Downton abbey is the baddie. Remarkable that this was made by children's charity Cinemagic whose patrons include Jullian Fellows, Dermot OLeary and Pierce Brosnan. They trained up a lot of young people in the making so it is so amazing bearing that in mind that it is a brilliant movie.... Going back to see it again! J
