Ozus' World Movie ReviewsDennis SchwartzA true cult film delight from the 1950s made for all eras.
East Bay ExpressKelly VanceA monolith of lowbrow entertainment from the days when cheap movies could be made and marketed cheaply.
FanboyNation.comSean MulvihillIt's a low budget masterwork that skewers the fad of its era while lambasting the ever-fickle art world.
San Francisco ExaminerJeffrey M. AndersonIt was perhaps Corman's first film to establish a really rich atmosphere, filled with nighttime shadows and a general edginess, which only grew richer on the subsequent Poe films.
User ReviewRichard DThis is Corman & Griffith's masterpiece. Such beautifully sharp satire ("I'm proud to say my poetry is only understood by that minority which is aware.") masquerading as a little horror comedy. I love it dearly.
User ReviewDavid Sthis movie gets such a great rating because it taught me something. There is a reason that I hate the 'hipster' crowd; they are completely unoriginal. their whole existance is based on regurgitation, and theis movie finaly showed me who the hipsters really thought they were; beat-nics. hipsters are fucking douchebags. Their vintage crappy looks, their lame facial hair. ugh
User Reviewdrain bthis movie rules. very entertaining.very stylish. i love roger corman..you should too.
User ReviewS. Michael Wdick miller is great actor who i think doesn't get the credit he deserves. the man has done about 50 monies in his life and bucket was his only staring role..........5 starts for dick!!!!!
User ReviewThe Next StarfighterI love Dick Miller in this movie. His statues were pretty amazing. I also like to see the Beatnik culture of the time. I'm sure Hollywood will remake this any day now.
User ReviewWeston HCorman's black and white era masterpiece. Dick Miller's sole leading man role is fantastic. full of fun and energy. funny how the film has so much bite to it long after the Beat scene died out.
