Reno Gazette-JournalMark RobisonBrilliant. One of the landmark documentaries.
ColeSmithey.comCole SmitheyA real mind-bender. Apted invented a new documentary form with this series.
Chicago ReaderDave KehrNo matter how it's interpreted, the film remains a deft and compelling piece.
Slant MagazineEd GonzalezThe 14 subjects of the "Up" series came together as a group only twice, and by the end of 28 Up, three have dropped out of the project.
User ReviewAlan VIt's at this point in the series that the truly epic scope of what's being undertaken really becomes clear. Incredible the twists and turns these lives take, often without regard to class or upbringing.
User ReviewEdith NThey are pretty much shaped up. Tony is full of shit, Bruce is the social idealist, Suzy is finally relaxed and I'm happy for her, Nick is the grounded genius and I'm still in love with him. John is an Asshole, Peter is irrelevant. Jakcie, Lynn and Susan are your average middle class married women but I still love Jackie. Paul is a fighter. But the one I identified with the most was Neil. I'm blown away by his journey and I am completely in -sync with him in his view of the world.
User ReviewErin Dall these people are really growing on me! I need to see what happens to them! i'm so enthralled in this film series, it should be on everyone's watch list.
User ReviewDerek WA landmark documentary that exhibits the simple humanism and modest accomplishments of its subjects.
User ReviewHarrison WStill fascinating, just realized that all of these people were born 2-3 years before my parents, so all their kids were born a few years before me. Hmmm. I'm sure that won't be emotional how it plays out. Wondering how much we'll see of the kids/family
