So these southern ghosts run out of victims and decide to git on the bus (horrible racist joke) and head north to Alaska...no just north (who knows why a ghost would need a mode of transportation), where they run into those dumb bitches Richie, Hilton and some homos. Racism and gayness ensue. Lots and lots of gayness...I think ol' Sullie my be gay...and racist.
User Review - 6/10 by Hayley BI had been looking forward for a long time to watching this sequel. Although it had everything I was expecting and wanting. Gore, blood, guts, laughs and wanton nudity. Why was I left disappointed by this film? First off the comedy aspect of the film seems really pushed at times. The cast seem to be trying to hard at being funny. But the biggest disappointment for me was the sound. Seriously what the hell was going on with the sound track? It sounded awful, it truly sounds like the whole thing has been re-dubbed? I was so put off by the sound that I was focussed on the crap sound rather the action on the screen. I must admit that on Blu-Ray the film looked stunning. Watching Christa Campbell in full 1080p is a real treat. One thing that I enjoyed about the first film was the creative ways that the hillbillies killed off the northerners. So I was very disappointed that there is only one really extreme death in this. I thought Bill Moseley did a fine job taking over as Mayor Buckman and Lin Shaye is hilarious as Granny. But this sequel could have been so much better. Oh and did I mention that the sound was awful?
User Review - 6/10 by David LThe first movie, itself a remake, left me rather cold so either my tastes have mellowed over the passing years or this baby is an improvement on what went before. The gore is deliberately comic and there's some nice one liners. A slasher comedy to appeal to the adolescent in us all.
User Review - 6/10 by Derek SRetour aux affaires pour les péquenauds sudistes pour cette suite de "2001 Maniacs" qui se trouvait être le remake de "2000 Maniacs" ! De nouvelles têtes dans ce film, notamment Bill Moseley qui remplace Robert Englund pour le rôle du maire Buckman et bien sûr la future viande froide composé de jeunes et moins jeunes acteurs qui incarne une équipe de télé réalité façon Paris Hilton et Nicole Ritchie (m'en rappelle plus du nom !). Devant le peu d'arrivant pour leur massacre annuel, les sudistes de Pleasant Valley vont faire venir le sud aux yankees puisque ces derniers ne viennent plus au sud. C'est dans l'équipe de la télé réalité qui fera les frais d'une éternelle vengeance des péquenauds qui ne se sont jamais remis de la raclée qu'ils ont subit par leurs voisins du nord. Première chose qui vient à l'esprit c'est le titre, ils sont sensés être plus de 2000 mais en n'en voit jamais plus d'une vingtaine, le petit budget se fait vraiment sentir (et là on sait pourquoi ça ne se passe plus au village, pas assez de villageois !!!), c'est très fauché par moment et même les scènes gores manquent de pêche par rapport au premier qui était bien plus ambitieux et énervé ! Le parti pris télé réalité est beaucoup utilisé dans des suites horrifiques comme "Halloween", "Wrong Turn 2" par exemple, c'est pas cher mais dans une production comme celle-là le côté "solution de facilité" se voit encore plus ! On a plaisir à retrouver des têtes familières comme Lin Shaye et le mec qui joue Huck mais il manque bien sûr Englund mais aussi Giuseppe Andrews grand habitué des productions Eli Roth. Bref, une suite qui ne manque pas de bonne humeur mais qui souffre drôlement de la comparaison avec le premier, pas qu'il soit un classique indémodable mais c'était autrement plus marrant et généreux, à voir si on est curieux mais ceux qui ont vu le premier vont vite voir que quelque chose cloche !!!
User Review - 4/10 by James OI tried really hard to like this, but ultimately it was an inferior sequel to the original. I know it's supposed to be cheesy, but this takes it to a new level. There are some creative kills along the way, but it's not enough to save this film.
