Vladimir Khotinenko was born in 1952 in Slavgorod, Altayskiy krai, RSFSR, USSR. Vladimir Khotinenko was born on 20 January 1952 in the city of Slavgorod of Altai Krai. He studied in the schools of Slavgorod and Pavlodar (Kazakhstan). After graduation, he worked as artist-constructor of Pavlodar tractor building factory, then served in the army. In 1976 he graduated from the Sverdlovsk Institute of architecture. In 1978-1982 — art Director on the Sverdlovsk film Studio film "Race with prosecution", "the smoke of the Fatherland", "the Cossack Outpost", "That kind of music". In 1981 he graduated from the Higher courses for scriptwriters and Directors (workshop of N. Mikhalkov). Worked with assistant Director Nikita Mikhalkov's film "Several days from the life of I. I. Oblomov", "Five evenings", "Kinfolk". The first film of Hotinenko, the Director was the film "Alone and unarmed" which he took in a pair of Farhutdinova in 1984. Teaches at the Russian state Institute of cinematography directing feature films.
