Mauricio Maldonado is a Colombian filmmaker born in Medellín, Colombia. He is the co-founder of the Cosmódromo Cine collective. His graduation short film IN SEARCH OF AIRE (2015) won the India Catalina award for best short film in the New Creators category at the FICTION 55th. His short film THE NIGHT SHINES (2018) was a beneficiary of the Fund for Film Development in Colombia in 2016 and was selected at Fribourg IFF 2020. He is currently working on the development of his first feature film LOS DILUVIOS, a winning project of the FDC fund award for scriptwriting in 2019.
