Mario David was born in 1927 in Charleville-Mézières, Ardennes, France. He began his early artistic career in the world of circus and cabaret in there being both a clown, an acrobat and a tamer of wild beasts. It also does a career in leculturisme which allows him to develop an impressive appearance which will advantage in the rest of his career. Accustomed to supporting roles, he took often the role of the ugly candide, the gross naivety of the force of nature in heart. He plays Philippe, the masseur a little dumb and naive, a role that he held first at the theatre in the eponymous piece from the mise en scene de Jacques Mauclair in 1958, and then again in 1971. Mario David died of a pulmonary embolism at the Hospital of the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris. He is buried in the cemetery of Louyat Limoges (6th section).
