Giannis Dalianidis was born in 1923 in Thessaloniki, Greece. He was born in Thessaloniki, greece on December 31, 1923 and raised by foster parents. Started his career as a dancer and choreographer, using the artistic alias of "John Dahl". From 1958 he began to write scenarios for films. His first screenplay was for the film "The crazy girl". The directorial career began in 1959 with the movie "the Gnat" and followed the same year the movie "People and Kolonaki". In 1961 he started his collaboration with Finos Films with the movie "The Downfall". The film was a great success and the reputation of the Δαλιανίδη soared. This was followed by the creation of a series of films, mainly musical, a genre in which it excelled particularly. Overall he has directed more than 60 films, in most of which he has written the script. By the 1970s he worked in television, creating several tv series, most of which were a great success. Passed away Saturday October 16, 2010 at the age of 87.
