Søren Rislund was born in 1950 in Frederiksberg, Danmark. Søren Rislund (born 17. may 1950 in copenhagen) is a Danish actor, writer, composer and comedian, who is best known for being one half of the duo Monrad & Rislund. The second member is Jan Monrad. Rislund was graduated from Frederiksberg Gymnasium in 1970 and commenced subsequent historiestudiet at Copenhagen University, but dropped out already in 1971. He got a job as a postman and ekstraarbejder and worked as such until 1978. From 1979 he devoted himself to the entertainment business full-time. In 1974, he had together with Jan Monrad, Tømrerclaus and Mik Schack established group Totalpetroleum that appeared until 1977/1978. Then changed the group name to the Monrad & Rislund and consisted now only of the two. Together with Jan Monrad Søren Rislund released over 30 albums and videos, all kendetegnets of the duo's black humor, coarse satire and crude tone. Among the classics is Pladderballe Nærradio and The naked horses from Upernavik. In 2009, starred the duo in an advertisement for byggemarkedskæden XL-Byg. Søren Rislund has also published several books about fire trucks and the fire department.
