Sergei Selyanov was born in 1955 in Olonets, Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, USSR (Russia). Member of the Board of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation. Vice-President of Guild of producers of Russia. Born on 21 Aug 1955 in Karelia, in Olonets. In 1975-1978 he studied at the Tula Polytechnic Institute, where he headed the Amateur film Studio. In 1980 he graduated from the screenwriting Department VGIK (workshop N.Figurovsky), in 1989 - the Higher courses for scriptwriters and Directors (class of Rolan Bykov). Feature film debut, "angel Day" was removed together with Nikolai Makarov in 1980 (the film was released in 1988). Other directorial work: "whit Monday" (1990), "the Time of sorrow has not yet come" (1995), "Russian idea" (1995, documentary). In 1992 he organized and headed the film company "STV". Producer of over 50 feature, animated and documentary films, awarded at Russian and international film festivals. Producer of several television programs, including "Liniya Kino" (ORT, 1996-1999). Winner of numerous film awards. Awarded the Khanzhonkov medal for best producer 1995-1998. In 1999 he was awarded the prize of the Association of movie producers (The Motion Picture Association - USA) for outstanding achievements in the development of independent filmmaking in Russia. Awarded the special prizes of the National Guild of film critics and press award "Golden Aries"-2001 (the best film of the decade) and "Golden Aries"-2002 (with the words "For courage in promoting on the Russian screen national cinema"). Interview with Sergei Selyanov on the problems of cinema have been published in leading business publications of Russia. Economic magazine "Expert" in February 2003 was named Sergei Selyanov "the only Russian producer whose name has become a brand in the field of film production."
