Per Buckhøj was born in 1902. Actor. Born 10/2 1902, died 21/10 1964, the 62-year-old. Married with the actress Henny Lindorff (1902-79) and the father of actor Jørgen Buckhøj (1935-94). Excerpt from Morten Piils "Danish film actors" (Gyldendal, 2003): His good filmydre got in 1925, the famous Swedish stumfilmsinstruktør Mauritz Stiller to urge him to take with him, and Greta Garbo to Hollywood. Buckhøj was at the time secretary of the Places in Stockholm, but he declined the offer to become a student at Aarhus Theatre. He age only 17 years later, too late to elskerroller, and instead, it was his beautifully regular features and a noble appearance used in småroller as a police or government official. With his aura of quiet authority does he work in the rule compelling, but rarely very interesting. Very sober, he is as Poul Reichhardts danskvenlige, German captor in "The red Meadows" (1945) - so restrained, that his betrayal opposite to the Wehrmacht and subsequent suicide becomes a postulate. He is the patriotic captain in the "Steady stands the Danish sailor" (1948), but it was Erik Balling, who in his debut film "Adam and Eve" (1953) as more fertile komediemuligheder in his spotless type: here he is the chief girl guide and editor of the Flammesværdet, which takes a cheeky book with home from France. And the Balling use Buckhøjs seriously somewhat in the same way as when he first cast his son Jørgen Buckhøj as Mads Skjern in "Matador" - they are two cubits, of the same puritan piece. But Balling pushing at the same time delicate layers of irony in the otherwise slightly boring supporting role-player's personality. The second peak in a slightly gray film career is his supporting role as one of the tough vikings in Richard Fleischers spectacular Hollywood-production in color and cinemascope, "The Vikings" ("Viking", 1957) with Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis, the partially recorded in Norway.
