Paul Reynaud was born in 1878 in Barcelonnette, France. Jean-Paul Reynaud, born on 15 October 1878 at Barcelonnette (Basses-Alpes) and died on 21 September 1966 at Neuilly-sur-Seine (Seine), is a French politician. Deputy of the Basses-Alpes (now Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), and then to Paris, he was several times minister during the Third Republic, and in particular the minister of Finance in 1938 in the government of Daladier. He is chairman of the Board from 22 march to 16 June 1940, a position he combines with that of minister of foreign Affairs and then minister of War. After the debacle of June, Paul Reynaud, then disagree with the main members of the government and military officials as to the action to be taken, resigns and is replaced by marshal Pétain who signed the Armistice.
