Ole Monty was born in 1908 in København, Danmark. Ole Monty was originally trained within herreekvipering and had no skuespilleruddannelse. He participated in a dozen years in the Trade and Kontoristforeningens revues - before he decided to become an actor. He read of Albert Luther and Henrik Malberg and made his debut in 1937 with Gerda Christophersen in Nykøbing F, but returned to the revyfaget and was in the 1941 associated with Knud Pheiffers radiokabaret "We are young", which achieved great popularity. In 1942 he created in radiokabaret together with Knud Pheiffer revue and radiofigurerne Phieselbach and hr. Pheiffert. When "Cabaret We are Young" ended in the fall of 1942 continued the duo their success, also outside of the radio studio and performed together bl.a. in Fiffer Revue "the Stripes on the pedestrian street" in 1947. They were very popular and appeared as a regular feature every Saturday in the radio underholdningsudsendelse a "Weekend Cottage". Ole Monty was in the years 1943 and 1954 in Vedbæk Revue, in 1946 in Helsingør-the Revue, in the 1950's in Response to the Revue and in the Fifferrevyen 1944, 1947, 1948 and 1949. In Fiffer Revyerne, which was played in the Casino in Istedgade, Frederiksberg Theatre, and in House Theatre, he had a second collaboration with Knud Pheiffer. He sang the ballad "The last sway" in Fifferrevyen 1949. In Dagmarrevyen the 1950's he had in the interaction with Dirch Passer, a terrific sketch, in which he played the overpropagandachef. Then came Ole Monty from 1951 to the Apollo Theatre, was bl.a. in the "sun stroke" and continued with Aage Stentoft with musicalroller on The new Scala and in Falkonercentret. With the years developed Ole Monty a safe talent as karakterskuespiller and appeared on a number of alternating copenhagen scenes, bl.a. Youth Theatre, but he maintained the connection to the comic rollefag, where he bl.a. was a big success as the mad cousin Freddy in "Arsenic and Old Lace". Ole Monty starred in the 1970s in Holstebro-the Revue. Through his career, he obtained also successful as a croon on the records, and it was he who in 1939 by a folkekoncert in the radio launched "Very Very Welcome Home Mr. Swanson". He is remembered also for its festive shape as Nielsen from Ledøje, "there could kopere them all". Ole Monty was the first time married with Sylli Monty (born Sylvia Schermeister), with whom he had a son, Pierre Monty (f - 1940). Ole Monty was married again in 1944 with the artist Inge Aasted, and ago with actress Lone Luther. He was uncle to film critic and former director of The Danish film museum Ib Monty. In march 1977 he fell on the stage during the rehearsals at the Folketeatret, and died the month following.
