Michael Moritzen was born in 1954 in København . Michael Moritzen is the son of actor Henning Moritzen and kassererske Betty Moritzen, f. Krohn. He was trained as an instructor at the national theatre School in 1978 and trained as an actor at the acting School at Aarhus Theatre in 1981. He was affiliated with the Aarhus Theatre in the season 1981-82 season, but was then free lance. He has bl.a. played David in "the Dance with Regitze" and a greater role as modstandsgruppelederen in "The naked trees". In the theatre he has bl.a. had titelroller in the "Don Ranudo" on Grønnegårds Theatre in 1989, in "Erasmus Montanus" and as the admiral in "Pinafore" at The Danish royal Theatre in 1998. Michael Moritzen was 1999-2000 head of skuespillinjen at the national theatre School and in 2001 he became head of the Folketeatret / the Hippodrome, where he without much luck, tried with a certain renewal of the repertoire.
