Lone Hertz was born in 1939 in København, Danmark. Lone Hertz is the daughter of mr. Kay Bernhard Hertz (1908 - 2001), and his wife, Arnolda inspector of south greenland Viola Gress Aistrup (1911 - 1998). As a child she was three years balletbarn at The Royal Danish Theatre ballet school. Together with Kirsten Andersen, Bjarne Kitter and Mike Højgaard she was the filmbørn and toured also with solar city Scene.
