Jørgen Buckhøj was born in 1935 in Aarhus, Danmark. Jørgen Buckhøj was the son of actor Per Buckhøj and actress Henny Lindorff. He was a student at the Aalborg Theatre in the years 1952-1953, where he made his debut in the role of Nicolai in "Nøddebo Præstegaard:". He returned after touring back again to the Aalborg Theatre in 1962 and was then associated with several different theatres, fol.a. Aarhus Theatre, The new Theatre, Aveny-Teatret, Scala, Boldhus Theatre and Perth Theatre. He was instrumental in the bl.a. in "The caucasian chalk circle", "Frk. Julie", "Mr Puntila", "Automobilkirkegården", "Ball in the bourgeois", "The boys in the band" and "Nuns". Shortly before his death, he starred in the musical "Cyrano" at Gladsaxe Theatre. He the age in the movie "Kriminalsagen Tove Andersen", in which he played a plumber and starred in addition bl.a. in "October 43", "Gudrun" and "Jetpiloter". In 1977 he recorded his last films, namely "Beware of the back professor". Jørgen Buckhøj starred in a number of revues bl.a. "What should we do", "Jeppe on the Mountain" as well as Dragør-revue 1971, where he had great personal success bl.a. with the song "I'm my own grandpa".
