Jaroslav Satoranský was born in 1939 in Prague, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia [now Czech Republic]. Originally trained as an engraver, but at the same time he started playing amateur theatre, which subsequently led to studies at DAMU in Prague. After graduating in the field of acting (1961), he joined Theater J. Changed yet again in the Affirmative (1963-1966), from where they passed into the Vinohrady theatre in Prague (1966).
