Erik Paaske was born in 1933. Erik John Paca, who was the son of cementstøber Frithjof Pac (died 1982) and his wife Johanne Thomasen (died 1967), went completely traditional apprenticeship as a bricklayer in the years 1948-1952. He then worked for six years as murersvend at Kolding the edge and relied, in addition, as gårdsanger and balmusiker. His hobby was to play amatørkomedie.
