Claude Darget's Full Biography

Claude Darget was born in 1910 in Paris, France. He is renowned for his personal comments, smiling or acids according to the news that he had. Philippe Bouvard described as " a defender of the consumer in terms of information ". The role of Claude Darget as well as other presenters in the newscast fades when Alain Peyrefitte was appointed minister of Information, saying to Leon Zitrone that from now on, " the reporter should be superseded by the information ". Darget is confined to two issues : one of philately, of which he is a connoisseur, the other, which he led from 1952 with Frédéric Rossif named The Life of the animals from which his comments are equally bitter, but of course have no real policy. In may 1968, several journalists of the ORTF went on strike, protesting against the pressure of the State on their freedom of expression. President Charles de Gaulle considers the gesture as a betrayal at a time when the country is experiencing a serious crisis and lots of layoffs are pronounced, including that of Claude Darget, who retired to take care only of its business stamp. Philippe Bouvard found later Claude Darget for the interviewer on television. When he asked this one : "What have you done in leaving the television ? ", Darget replied, philosopher and with his impertinence customary law that is similar to that of Bouvard : "My faith, I did what you would do if tomorrow they put you at the door." Bouvard appreciates obviously this trait of mind worthy of the greatest years of his friend. Léon Zitrone, whose Darget lampooned the side sometimes obsequious, and who is afflicted, takes, however, a portrait in praise of his colleague in his autobiography, Big Leo.
