Averell Harriman was born in 1891 in New York City, New York, USA. William Averell Harriman (15 novembre 1891 - 26 juillet 1986) était un homme d'affaires américain, un homme politique démocrate et un diplomate. Harriman est né à New York, fils de magnats des chemins de fer (Edward Henry Harriman et Mary Williamson Averell), et frère de E. Roland Harriman.
