Annemette Svendsen was born in 1928. Annemette Svendsen, who is the daughter of actress Karin Nellemose and sceneinstruktøren Torben Anton Svendsen, began as balletbarn at The Royal Danish Theatre ballet school in 1940. She made her debut as a dancer in 1945, in Børge Ralovs "Twelve by the mail" and was in the 1947 ballerina. The year after she began to read with the actor Martin Hansen, and switched to the dramatic elevskole at The Royal Theatre, 1949-1951, where she, in 1951, made her debut in "The Miserly" and as Agnes in "the elf-hill". A role her mother had played in the past. She was engaged at The Royal Theatre in the years 1951-1953. Later she was linked a year for the Aarhus Theatre, where she bl.a. played Ophelia in "Hamlet" and a shorter period to the great hall, just as she appeared in a few performances at the Danish Skolescene. Furthermore, she had engagements at Odense Teater, det Danske Teater, Gladsaxe Teater and Folketeatret. She age in "Ditte human children" from 1946, as The schoolmate, who mockingly spits it bolsje out, as Ditte offer her. Later, she starred bl.a. in the Saga films, "Kristiane Marstal" and as one of the three sisters in "Three girls from Jutland". Annemette Svendsen was the 8. march 1959 married at Søllerød town Hall with the actress Ingolf David.
