Angelo Bruun was born in 1898. Pier Angelo Zeuthen Bruun was the son of the actor Cajus Bruun (25-02-1866 - 01-11-1919) and actress Clara Bentzen (05-10-1859 - 08-08-1924). He played småroller in his apprenticeship at the Århus Theatre 1917-20, but without any convincing about his talent. In the years 1920-21, he worked with Eyvind Kornbeck partly on tour and partly at the Odense Theatre where he the 27. august 1920 appeared as a first lieutenant Stavesen in the "Løjtnantens civil brother". The actual debut, he got 10. december 1920 as Albert Ebbesen, in "the elf-hill". After his soldatertid he got the commitment at the Betty Nansen Theatre, where in 1921 he played the role as Sannæs in the "A bust". He starred in the 1920s in Co-Optimist-revue. Later he was an actor at The New Theatre 1930-32, the dagmar theatre 1933-37, The new Theatre 1937-39 and from 1939-1956 he was at Folketeatret, where he developed into an excellent karakterskuespiller and had success in many roles. He played bl.a. teaterroller in "Fragments of a pattern," architect Isling in the "After" (as in 1947/48 was listed 141 times at Folketeatret), "Thirty years standing", "the Gods of clay", "You never know" and "the Merchant of Venice". He is remembered most for his film roles, bl.a. as the scheming owner of a modetøjsforretning in ”Her big night” and he hypnotisede us all as Louis Valdini in the movie ”Mordets melody”, where he is suspected of murder. Among his other films are "For freedom and right", "Kristinus Bergman", "Avismanden", "It is so wonderful to be together" and "Kispus". Angelo Bruun died of a fractured skull after falling down a kældertrappe. He was visiting the actress Gerda Madsen in her house in Græsted, together with his wife, actress Inger Lassen. During the visit hath he thrown into the darkness down a kældertrappe and sustained a fatal skull fractures. After his death, and while Inger Lassen was dying of cancer adoptee, Gerda Madsen and their son. He was awarded the Teaterpokalen in 1941 and the film award Bodil in 1954 for best supporting actor for his role in "Her big night". Angelo Bruun was married three times. He was first married to the Norwegian actress Anne Marie Berg. It is the second marriage he was 2. december 1925 in Copenhagen with actress Gerda Madsen and the third marriage with actress Inger Lassen the 3. september 1937.
